Hello. Meet the Cargo Team.
After graduating from Yale, Jeff was an early team member at Birchbox, and a founding Ecommerce team member at Christie's, where he helped build the world’s leading digital art-commerce platform. Jeff has also worked as an Advisor to Loehmann's and ARTCUBE. Outside of work, Jeff is on the Junior Board of Project Art, enjoys golf, and is an amateur paleontologist credited with the discovery of new species and genuses, including T. cripeosaurus.
Jasper is a highly technical industrial designer with 12 years of experience developing products, from concept to shelf, for companies ranging from Fortune 500 homeware retailers to venture-backed hardware startups. His design philosophy is to use iterative model-making and prototyping processes to create production-ready designs. He lives in Brooklyn with his fiancee and two adorable dogs, where he attends every concert. Ever.
Before joining the ride-share industry, Eric studied mathematics at the University of Michigan and consulted for various early-stage startups. He has previously worked on NSF-backed research and National Nuclear Security Administration projects with some of the leading scientists from NASA, Harvard, MIT, and the DOE. Outside of Cargo, Eric is an olympic weightlifter, powerlifter, and ravenous eater.
After successfully dropping out of college, Stuart pursued an operations and technology career at Birchbox. During his five year tenure, Stuart led design and implementation of various scalable back-end systems and integrations supporting distribution to well over a million monthly subscribers across multiple countries. Recently, Birchbox’s Most Mysterious has been busy spearheading development at Cargo and perfecting the Old Fashioned.
James is a startup veteran. His first successful exit came at Blackline, a software company where James was an early team member, which was acquired by Silverlake before going public in 2016. Prior to Cargo, James was a Senior Software Engineer and seed investor at Everwise, a NYC SaaS company whose Series B was recently led by Sequoia Capital. Cargo's first money in, James joined Cargo less than a year later as a Senior Software Engineer. Equal parts entrepreneur and investor, his other notable investments include Super League Gaming, ORock Technologies, Mobilogix, and SecureAuth.
As a recent graduate of the University of Michigan, Kevin brings his experience of working in the mobility space at Ford Motor Company. While there, he was responsible for bringing ‘whiteboard ideas’ to life, as well as developing the next company-culture changing innovations. Kevin was born and raised in Michigan with five sisters, including a twin. His favorite things are sports, camping, and chocolate chip cookies.
A graduate of UT-Austin, Kenny most recently served as the first GM and Expansion Lead at Chariot, where he led expansion efforts before and after the company’s acquisition by Ford, launching operations in Austin, Seattle, and NYC. He was also Uber’s first Territory Lead, leading successful negotiations to start Uber’s service at both San Jose & Monterey’s airports. Kenny previously worked at the Boston Consulting Group, Yahoo!, Shift, and Zynga, and received his MBA from UCLA. Outside of work, @concertkenny can be found at a concert, traveling, or eating something delicious.
Dena is a Florida Gator with a Master’s in Business Management with a focus in Supply Chain Management. She has expertise in inventory management and integrated supply chain strategy. Prior to joining Cargo, she held roles in Logistics, Demand Planning, and most recently, Brand Management at Mondelez International. In her spare time, she can be found training for her next marathon or exploring the local restaurant scene.
Before switching careers and joining Cargo, Cesar was an educator working in high-performing Charter Schools. An expert in college access, Cesar guided hundreds of students and their families through the college application process. He graduated from the University of Central Florida. When not in the office, Cesar can be found teaching himself to code or running around the playground and singing Disney songs with his wife and two kids.
Before signing on as Cargo’s 10th employee, Catherine worked in Retail Merchandising at a number of billion-dollar companies across multiple categories of business, including fashion, home, and beauty. Most recently, she was part of the team that led the re-launch of PINK Beauty at Victoria’s Secret. Catherine holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Pennsylvania.Outside of work, Catherine can be found over-ordering at some of NYC’s best restaurants and spending time with Schmooie the cat (not pictured).
Prior to Cargo, Bekki was a partner at BrandShare, where she launched an Ecommerce Sampling Platform with 750+ retailer partners that distributed 100MM+ samples annually. She managed Brandshare’s national sales staff, launched a subscription division with Walmart, and oversaw all major functions within the company. Bekki previously worked at News America Marketing, Time Inc. and Kraft Foods before falling in love with start ups! When she isn’t with her big pup Sonny, Bekki always enjoys a tropical vacation and a good run.
James started his career in investment banking before fulfilling his ambition of transitioning to the exciting tech startup space by joining Gett. Whilst working at Gett he played a key role in raising $400MM from VW and Sberbank, whilst also completing numerous acquisitions and strategic partnerships. James lives in London and spends his spare time playing tennis, golf and cricket.
Kurt was born in the Philippines, grew up in Ohio and now live in New York City. As Cargo's Associate Creative Director, he plays a pivotal role in shaping and developing the company's visual identity and marketplace presence. Prior to Cargo, he was the Associate Creative Director of BrandShare. Kurt earned his BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art. He likes karaoke, trying new restaurants, sketching people on the subway on his phone and going on adventures.
Julien is a recent graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. Prior to joining the company, he conducted due diligence on Cargo at Bleu Capital, one of Cargo's early investors. Julien has involved himself in Wharton's entrepreneurial ecosystem, both as an investor for the Penn Wharton Innovation fund and as a student-founder. Outside of work, Julien enjoys playing soccer and loudly cheering for his home team Paris-Saint-Germain. He can also be found exploring the NYC food scene and facetiming his dog.
Kylie is a recent graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School of Communications. Prior to joining Cargo, Kylie interned with tech-focused media relations and branding companies. In her free time, Kylie enjoys baking, running and spending time with her family.
After graduating in 2013, Jillian moved from D.C. to NYC to pursue her passion for marketing. Over the last 5 years, she has worked with major CPG brands to ideate, launch, and manage creative marketing campaigns across various print, digital, event, and sampling platforms. Outside of work, Jillian loves cycling, traveling, and cheering on her favorite Philadelphia sports teams.
Prior to joining Cargo, Joi, was apart of the financial investment firm, Merrill Edge and healthcare startup, Oscar Insurance in operational and management roles. A graduate of CSU with a BSBA in Human Resource Management she is currently pursuing a Masters in Organizational Leadership and Management. Outside of work Joi enjoys traveling extensively and hiking.
Prior to joining Cargo's dev team, Alex spent 5 years in the Civil Engineering field after graduating from the University of Michigan. He then decided to follow his passion for technology and make the switch to software development - working for Priceline.com for two and a half years. When not working, Alex can be found discovering new music, playing soccer, or being an amateur dog sitter.
Prior to Cargo, Michael worked in Ford's Global Strategy Group in support of Ford Smart Mobility. In Michael's role, he contributed thought leadership and strategic input to projects related to Ford's Chariot, City Solutions, and Autonomous Vehicle teams. Preceding Ford, Michael worked with Cargo and several other startups at Techstars Mobility in Detroit as a summer associate. Michael received his BA from Georgetown University and currently lives in Detroit. A few quick ways to Michael's heart include barbeque, vintage cars, and boating.
Elisabeth began her career at News America Marketing where she spent ten years partnering with the world's leading brands to develop data-driven strategies that connected those brands, personally, with the right shopper, at the right time, on the right platform. She discovered her passion for entrepreneurship when her company acquired a mobile app start-up. Moving into a Brand Partnership role for the newly acquired organization, Elisabeth found herself more excited than ever to innovate and learn. She's currently pursing an MBA at the University of Notre Dame and, when she graduates in May 2019, she looks forward to catching up on bad TV, fine-tuning her karaoke game, and maybe working out. Or learning how to DIY the perfect martini. Maybe.
Jimmy is a recent graduate from Swarthmore College, where he studied Physics and Computer Science. During his time there, he was involved in statistical physics research, studying pedestrian dynamics to observe probabilities through the use of simulated models. Jimmy has previous experiences at Contently, Harvard, University of Washington, and NIST. In his free time, Jimmy enjoys running, reading, and listening to trap music.

Hari is a product leader and entrepreneur, with a long history making beloved consumer products. As the Director of Product Management at LinkedIn, who acquired Hari's previous startup, his work is regularly used by hundreds of millions of people. Hari is credited with dozens of top industry awards and featured in notable publications.
